Harrow School Science Building

The pioneering Harrow School Science Building reflects the school’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence and commitment to sustainability. It features 16 state of the art Chemistry and Biology laboratories, spread across three floors, including two dedicated research labs for specialist projects and A level studies.

Established in 1572 under a Royal Charter granted by Queen Elizabeth I, Harrow is one of the most respected schools in the world. The newly opened facility is part of a comprehensive 450 development programme.

S+B were involved in the early stages of the project, starting their collaboration with Rivington Street Studio, who led the vision of this transformative project, in 2016. We worked closely on developing the furniture specification for the  state of the art laboratories, manufactured and installed by S+B UK.

The Chemistry and Biology labs feature sleek, long benches with Velstone worktops, integrated storage, utilities, teacher’s demo desks, and tall storage. The Biology Research Lab provides a flexible layout with mobile tables serviced by fitted service towers.

The transformative construction project will build on the school’s strong heritage in science, benefiting future Harrovian scientists, partner schools, and the local community.
